Foolish

An anti-migrant poster unveiled by Nigel Farage has been reported to the police with a complaint that it incites racial hatred and breaches UK race laws. "The Unison general secretary, Dave Prentis, said he had written to the Metropolitan police about the poster, which shows a queue of mostly non-white migrants and refugees with the slogan “Breaking point: the EU has failed us all.”
Prentis described the Ukip poster as a “blatant attempt to incite racial hatred”. He said: “This is scaremongering in its most extreme and vile form. Leave campaigners have descended into the gutter with their latest attempt to frighten working people into voting to leave the EU.
Let's not beat around the bush here. This is crass, but not racist - and a referral to the police is a cheap political ploy. That politics now seeks police intervention so frequently on matters which are ultimately for voters to decide is yet another landmark in our cultural endarkenment.

But what did Farage think would happen? Once again we see the spectacular lack of judgement only Ukip is capable of. This may yet be Ukip once again snatching a defeat from the jaws of victory. This, dear readers, is why I have been so hostile to Ukip all this time. This here above was depressingly inevitable. Those of you who chose this approach over Flexcit will soon have to reckon with your decisions.
